Only 20 minutes drives from Langgur, Letman Village offer a beautiful rock island named Yer Teran Ratut or better know as YTR is “A thousand island shells” in English. On this island there is a tower that can be used to enjoy the beauty of the small islands surrounded complete with the turquoise sea water. A cafe and Traditional flying fox is also provided here. To explore the small island, the caretaker provide banana boat which can be rent by visitor.
Locatated in Hoko Village Kei Besar island, this waterfall can be reach by taking a speedboat from Watdek to Elat town and continue to Hoko by motorcycle or car. For those who want to enjoy nature beauty Hoko waterfall is higly recommended, because of its fresh and clear water, also the gurgling water which is very riveting. Another uniqueness is the stones making up the waterfall is not too high so that tourists can jump and can swim on the the nature pond under the falls.
Ohoidertawun beach is especially attractive. The sheleter and homestay cottages on the beach are available at acharming beach side café. The water here is extremely shallow: at low tide the sea retreats to the horizon, exposing hundreds of square metres of Kei’s famous white sand. A short walk (or a canoe trip, depending on the tide), from the far end of the beach you can see some mysterious figures and symbols painted in red on the cliff face overhanging the water.
The image sit high above the water; one can make out some that resemble human eyes and figura, animals, and a canoe. The local villagers do not know who drew these pictures, nor what they mean, nearby are some caves, one of whics is considered sacred, and is called vid Nit, or the door of death.
The cave is in Letvuan village, 15 km from Langgur. The deep pools are fed by a freshwater spring inside. The crystal clear water allowing you to see the rocks underneath clearly. Hawang is local language means devil. Hawang cave has interesting legend behind about a hunter and his dog, where the are two rocks at the centre, the big one used to be the hunter and small one used to be his dog. Diving can also be done here.
Madwaer beach is the most quite and peaceful beach also furthest than other beaches in Kei Island also. The clear water and coconut tree along the beach add its beauty scenery. It loceted in the distric of Kei Kecil Barat, abaout one hour from Ngurbloat beach. Tourists can also order lobster to local fisherman which can be so fresh from the ocean and has really good taste.
Located 17 Km from Langgur City, outside the village of Ngilngof, this is the most known beach in Kei Island. Ngurbloat is local language meaning “Long Sandy Beach” that consist of two words “Ngur” means Sand and “Bloat” means Long. As the name suggests there are 3 Km of beautifully soft white sand fringed with trees and conout palms. This is the great spot to enjoy sunset over the sea. Along the beach there are guest house and many stalls that sell local food, snacks and drinks where the most famous is Pisang Goreng Enbal.
